みなさんMDXってご存じですか？それって輸入車なの？いえいえ、れっきとした日本の自動車メーカー、ホンダが販売した高級SUVなんです。とは言え、輸入車と思うのも無理はありません。何せこのMDX、生産は日本ではなく、なんとカナダ産。メイド･イン･カナダなのです。<br />

土地も人もビッグなだけに、MDXも国産車にはないド迫力の図体をしています。全幅は1995mm。もはや2m級です。しかもまた価格がビッグ。新車時価格は485万円と、ランドクルーザーに迫る価格。この手の車としては異例といえるほど高かったのです。<br />
<br />
日本では受け入れられないサイズと価格が影響してか、やはり販売成績は伸び悩みました。同じSUVというカテゴリーで、日本の市場向けに適正なサイズで作られた車が山ほどあるのですから、それは当然の流れと言えます。しかもその大半がMDXより“安い”という現実。つまり、簡単に言ってしまえば不人気車なワケです。<br />

ですがその“不人気”を逆手にとることで、おトクな買い物ができるのが中古車の魅力。なんと最安値は169.8万円という破格のプライス。MDXは新車時価格の1/3近くで買える、とてもおいしい中古車なのです。<br />

ではさっそくMDXの説明にまいりましょう。先ほど図体がデカイと書きましたが、スタイリングのデザインモチーフはなんだと思います？ゾウ？ライオン？いやいや、「サイ」ですサイ。アタマに大きな角を生やしたアレです。正直、なんだかなぁ…という感は否めませんが、実はサイってとても俊敏な動物なんです。力強くて俊敏、そんなイメージをもとにデザインされています。<br />

<b><font color="red">■</font>街であまり見かけないマニアックSUVはステイタス性も高い!?</b><br />
その走れるサイが登場したのは2003年の3月。エンジンはV6の3.5Lで、ミッションは5ATを搭載しています。シートは国産のSUVとしては珍しく3列シートの7人乗り。ボディが大きいだけに室内空間も広大です。<br />

そして“高級”を謳うだけにインテリアの質感は高く、装備も充実。落ち着きや安らぎを感じさせる曲面デザインを取り入れ、さらに本革や木目調パネルなどを採用することで知的でスマートな印象を与えています。本革のパワーシートやギアをリバースに入れると自動でドアミラーが下向きになるリバース連動ドアミラーなど、豪華な装備が奢られているのも大きな特徴です。<br />

さて、このラグジュアリィSUVたるMDX。不人気車だっただけに、街で見かけることはほとんどありません。そもそも実際に見たことがある人って少ないのではないでしょうか？間近で見ると、ホンダのHマークが付いているのが不思議なほどのデカさ。車に詳しくない人に「ガイシャだよ」と言えばスンナリ納得しそうな勢いです。<br />
<br />
かなりマニアックな一台ともいえますが、輸入車はちょっとカッコつけすぎだし、そもそも高い。かといって国産だとハリアーは街中でよく見るだけにステイタス性がなぁ、という人におあつらえ向きの一台です。輸入車とは一味違った優越感が味わえる逆輸入車、なんていかがでしょうか？サイズ的には輸入車にも負けないサイズですし、ハマー（ほどは大きくないものの）と見比べてもその威圧感は見劣りはしないと思いますよ。<br />

<p>最近、ロト6が当たったサラリーマンのTVドラマが放映されています。というわけで、担当者がロト6を当てたら買いたいもの、そして人生において一度は味わっておいたら幸せではないか、と思った車を選んでみました。全車、ハッキリ言って高いですが、なかには思わぬコストパフォーマーも。気になる車は中古車カタログや物件をチェックしてみてください。こんな車が欲しいと思ったアナタ、ロト6かジャンボ宝くじを買いに行きましょう。</p>
<p>第10位は日産GT-R(現行)。巷では「味がない」という批判めいた意見もあるようですが、絶対的性能は一般的に購入できる市販車のなかではピカイチです。1000万円以下でこれほどの性能を味わえる日本人は、幸せだといっていいでしょう。中古車市場でもチラホラ見かけるようになりましたが新車価格と変わらず、お買い得感はありません。でも需要と供給が中古車相場を形成していますから、いつ値落ちするかわかりません。気になる人は定期的に相場をチェック!</p>
<p>第9位はランボルギーニムルシエラゴ(現行)。ドアが跳ね上がって開くガルウィングに、とてつもなく力強いサウンドを奏でるV12気筒エンジンは文化遺産といってもいいほどです。4WDなので路面に食らいつくような走りが堪能できます。目立たぬことが美徳とされる日本ですが、もっとガツガツ目立つ成功者がいてもいいのでは? 商売で成功したあかつきに、もしくは宝くじを当てて、ムルシエラゴを狙ってほしいものです。大分、安くなってきたといっても2000万円ですが。</p>
<p>第8位はフェラーリ360モデナ(絶版)。本当はF430をオススメしたかったのですが、デビューから3年たった今でも新車時価格とあまり変わらない中古車相場には閉口してしまいます。それよりも360モデナはお買い得感があります、1000万円くらいはしますが・・・。アクセルを踏み込む量と比例するかのように高まるエグゾーストノートは、所有した人だけがわかる高揚感たっぷり。性能うんぬんでは語りきれない何かがフェラーリにはあります。人生に一度はぜひ。</p>
<p>第7位はトヨタセンチュリー(現行)。政治家、会社役員御用達のトヨタが誇る最高級車です。新車価格は1000万円クラスですが、コストはそれ以上と噂されているほど手がかかっています。中古車なら100万円台後半からでも狙えるので、“予算無視!"と謳ったわりには現実的な選択肢かもしれません。国産で唯一のV12エンジンはどんな回転域でも静かで振動を伝えず、アスファルトの路面をスーッと流れるように走る様は、まるで空飛ぶ絨毯。一度乗るとやみつきです。</p>
<p>第6位はM・ベンツGクラス(現行)。オフロードでの優れた走破性を実現させていますが、基本設計が古いため昨今の高級SUVとは比較にならないくらい乗り心地が悪いです。それでも人気なのは、時間がたってもあまり変化のない武骨で愛くるしいデザインだからかもしれません。そして、運転してみるとワクワク感たっぷり。高い目線から広がる広大な視野、道なき道を走りそうな柔らかくもしっかりした足回り、冒険心が掻き立てられるかのようです。</p>
