スポーツルックの代表モデル</h5>
押し出し系とはひと味違うエアロパーツ使いでファミリィ感を薄めたスポーツルック系ミニバン。その代表モデルと言えるのが、ステップワゴンのスパーダだろう。旧型の後期にあたる2003年6月のマイナーチェンジ時に追加されたスパーダは、排気量を2.4Lにアップしたエンジンやスポーティな専用エクステリアを採用。昨年登場した現行モデルにもこのスパーダは引き続き設定されている。エンジンは2Lと2.4Lの2タイプだ。「子供と一緒にどこ行こう！」というキャッチフレーズで初代からファミリィ系ミニバンの代表だったステップワゴンだが、“男のミニバン”ニーズは無視できなかったのだろうか。ただし押し出し系ではなくスポーツルックに振ったところがホンダらしいとも言える。中古車ではまだスパーダの流通量は潤沢ではないが、24Zであれば150万円以下で狙える物件もある。</td>

<p>第5位はホンダS2000(現行)。FR、オープン2シーター、そしてF1マシンをも彷彿とさせるフロントデザインだけで自慢になります。ホンダがこの手のスポーツカーを出したのは、相当久しぶりでしたから。強靭なボディ剛性は、誰しもが驚くホンダ渾身の出来映えでした。おまけにデビュー当初のエンジンは、排気量たった2Lながら最高出力250psを達成させていました。足回りは年々改良が加えられたようで、年式が新しくなるにつれ“しなやかさ"が増しているように感じます。</p>
<p>第4位はダイハツタント(現行)。そもそも「軽自動車」というカテゴリーが日本オリジナルであることが自慢です。軽量、コンパクトでちゃんと衝突安全性も考慮されているんです。なかでもタントは、軽自動車に乗っていることを忘れさせてくれるようなインテリアが広がっています。最大の要因は大きなフロントウィンドウだと思います。視界の良さと高い天井が広さを演出しているのです。自動車業界において没個性が問題視されるなか、タントをはじめ、軽自動車は個性派揃い。</p>
<p>第3位はトヨタプリウス(現行)。ハイブリッドカーは全般に、外国人に自慢できます。エコなだけでなく、最近は「インテリジェンスを感じさせる選択肢」というステータスまでついてきます。モーターがもたらすトルクは図太く、加速には面白いほどの力強さがあります。今後は家庭でも充電できるプラグインが登場し、やがてリチウムイオン電池を搭載するのでしょう。ガソリンスタンドに行くことを忘れてしまいそうです。そういった近未来的なところ、外国人にはきっと日本っぽいです。</p>
<p>第2位はスバルインプレッサハッチバックSTI(現行)。残念ながらWRC撤退が表明されてしまいましたが、スバルと三菱ほどヨーロッパ市場に浸透している国産メーカーはないかもしれません。インプレッサやランサーは、いわば憧れの的です。それほどWRCでのイメージ作りは成功していた、とも解釈できます。メカメカしいデザインは日本では子供っぽく見える面もあるものの、なぜか欧米では様になるんです。あまり見かけないからでしょうか。新車時からコストパフォーマンス高いです。</p>
<p>第1位はトヨタランドクルーザー200(現行)。ラダーフレームをあえて採用し続けるには理由があるそうです。本当の荒野で活躍するだけあって、モノコックボディだと「割れる」恐れがあるのだとか。日本が世界に誇るオフローダーは、本当に世界中で活躍しているのです。オンロードではボディ重量があるので、どっしりとした走りはちょっとロールスロイスファントムに似ています。フラットライド、静か、そして快適、という一面ももっています。ハッキリ言って最高の出来映えです。<br>
